Sustainability
For us, sustainability means more than just environmental protection - we act ecologically, socially and responsibly. At hasenkamp, we put this into practice: with geothermal-powered art depots, climate-friendly transport and fair co-operation within the company. This is how we shape the future - prudently, innovatively and with a clear attitude.

Responsibility
Our goal: to minimise emissions and maximise responsibility. For us, sustainability is not just about the environment, but also about treating people fairly, good management and a commitment to culture and society.
Supporting global climate targets
We stand by the Paris Climate Agreement and make our contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Early action
We regularly review risks and opportunities in our core areas of packaging, storage and transport. This enables us to recognise challenges at an early stage and take targeted preventative action - with appropriate measures and emergency plans.
In this way, we minimise the consequences of potential damage to people and the environment - whether in the air, water or soil.
Certification as a basis
In addition to the relevant social, energy and environmental laws and guidelines, our ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 50001:2018 certifications form an important basis for our activities.

ISO certifications

Our activities include
- Regular recording and evaluation of energy-related performance
- Identification and evaluation of energy-saving measures
- Procurement of appliances that are as energy-efficient and environmentally friendly as possible
- Measurement and evaluation of greenhouse gas emissions
- Utilisation and integration of renewable energies wherever possible
- Avoidance of waste
- Ongoing development of the structures, processes and procedures of the management systems
"We are a family business - rooted in tradition, open to new ideas. We develop sustainable solutions that help our customers and protect the environment. For us, this is a win-win situation. And that's why we invest with conviction."
Dr Thomas Schneider, CEO
Geothermal depots
We operate our depots in Cologne, Vienna, Amsterdam and Munich almost emission-free with geothermal energy and photovoltaics.
We use geothermal energy to evenly temper the concrete cores of the wall and ceiling elements and maintain the ideal museum conditions of 20 degrees Celsius and 55 per cent humidity with particularly low energy consumption.
Thanks to deep boreholes and green electricity from solar panels, we generate more energy than we consume.

Climate-friendly transport crate
With the "arca - Made to Protect" transport box, we have created a crate with a consistently sustainable design. The reusable packaging makes the most of the advantages of a modern circular economy, is made from regional Kiri wood and has a digital climate tracker that optimises handling so that fewer truck journeys are necessary.

Less CO2 through digitalisation
Our digital fleet management system enables us to organise our art logistics more efficiently. Thanks to the improved utilisation of our vehicles and fewer empty runs, we have reduced our CO2 emissions by around 5 percent so far. We are also modernising our fleet with electric vehicles.
