Precise logistics for particle accelerators
When a highly sensitive part for the Large Hadron Collider, the world's largest accelerator at the European Nuclear Research Centre CERN in Switzerland, goes on a journey, precision is crucial. On behalf of the Hamburg particle accelerator centre DESY, hasenkamp transported the key component for the silicon strip detector of the ATLAS experiment from Amsterdam to Hamburg.
"This order was a special challenge, which we mastered with our many years of experience in handling highly sensitive goods," explains Thomas Bräuning, Managing Director of hasenkamp Final Mile Services.
A very special transport box was developed for the end cap of the ATLAS detector: measuring 3 x 3 x 3.5 metres, weighing almost two tonnes and insulated with a material from the aerospace industry, it ensures a low-vibration and climate-stable environment for the sensitive structure.

Scanner-based warehouse and inventory management
Thanks to advanced inventory procedures, we record all incoming and outgoing goods in detail. This means we always have an overview of stored products, their special properties and the necessary storage requirements. Picked consignments can also be tracked precisely.
Self-collection processing
End customers can also collect their goods from us in person. We assemble the ordered products and prepare them for personal transport.
