Mission Possible

Klosterheide, Germany
In Klosterheide near Berlin in May 2023, hasenkamp was involved in an unusual assignment. Two heavy sculptures were removed from a park. The artworks had been installed on a green area that would have been damaged if our lorry had driven in front of it. Due to the special requirements of the location, it was therefore decided to use a helicopter for the relocation in order to safely bridge the distance between the installation site and our lorry.

Our art packers first prepared the helicopter transport by attaching crane ropes to the artworks. The helicopter then flew over the installation site and the crane ropes were attached to the helicopter's cable.
Now the objects could be flown safely to the lorry's location on a pallet and our art packers could start loading them onto the lorry. After a short period of work, the helicopter was able to return to its home base.
Challenges
- Removal of the artworks without damaging the green space
- Professional load securing for transport by helicopter
- Close coordination between hasenkamp personnel on the ground and pilots in the air
