Rebirth in new splendour

Gerhard Richter's three-part work "Red - Yellow - Blue" from 1973 resided in the entrance area of the BMW tower block in Munich for half a century. To mark this 50th anniversary, the paintings have now been restored so that they can once again shine in their original splendour.

In close co-operation with the BMW Group, hasenkamp carried out the careful deinstallation and storage for the duration of the restoration, which was carried out in one of our showrooms in Munich. We then used the art transport fleet to transport the paintings back to the BMW Tower and installed them in new custom-made glass display cases. These protect them from harmful UV light and are also air-conditioned.

The impressive group of works can now be exhibited there in accordance with the latest conservation standards and at the same time in the presentation style originally envisaged by the artist.
