Vocational training in logistics at hasenkamp

Apprenticeships in logistics:

We offer students the opportunity to complete an apprenticeship as a forwarding and logistics agent, office management assistant, warehouse specialist, warehouse logistics specialist or carpenter. During their apprenticeships with us, our trainees get to know all of hasenkamp's departments.

Cooperative education and student jobs in logistics:

We also offer a cooperative study programme in logistics, enabling students to combine a degree in logistics management at the EUFH in Brühl with vocational training as a forwarding and logistics agent.

Students can work for us part time in the areas of finance, marketing, project management or strategy, or complete their mandatory internships at hasenkamp.

We offer personalised career opportunities.

Our goal is to offer our trainees and cooperative education students a job after they graduate. We provide personalised career opportunities across all company departments. We also offer numerous opportunities for advancement and development at the international level.

Daily routine of a trainee

Apprenticeship as a forwarding and logistics agent:

The daily tasks of a trainee undertaking an apprenticeship as a forwarding and logistics agent include planning, organising, controlling, monitoring and handling national and international freight shipments and other services.

The training also includes calculating prices and submitting offers, communicating with business partners (often in English), preparing bills of lading, checking invoices and dealing with damage and liability claims.

While passing through all company departments, our trainees also gain important insights into the different business areas. Apprenticeships usually last three years, but can be shortened by half a year.

Training as a warehouse specialist:

During their apprenticeship, our warehouse specialist trainees become familiar with all the important tasks in our warehouses and take care of the professional receipt, storage and preparation for transport of various items.

They check and prepare the accompanying documents and organise the safe and timely loading and unloading of goods. In addition, you will put together the planned deliveries, pack works of art as well as goods intended for removal and take care of the documentation and reporting of possible errors and issues.

The apprenticeship lasts for two years and can be completed at our branches in Cologne, Munich, Frankfurt and Berlin.

Apprenticeship as a warehouse logistics specialist:

While the apprenticeships as a warehouse logistics specialist and as warehouse specialist are similar in terms of content, the training period for warehouse logistics specialists is three years rather than two. In addition to warehouse work, it also includes administrative tasks, office work and the planning of warehouse operations. Analysing key performance indicators, procuring goods and picking orders are also integral parts of the training.

Apprenticeship as a carpenter:

We offer carpenter apprenticeships in our in-house carpentry workshop in Cologne. Our trainees learn how to work safely with various large machines and help with the preparation and finishing of the fine art crates we manufacture. Furthermore, they also measure artworks in order to create tailor-made shipping crates. In our carpentry workshop, our trainees also learn how to build customised interior packaging. In the practical part of their final examination, they are given the task of building their own crate according to certain specifications.

Cooperative study programme as a logistics manager in combination with training as a forwarding and logistics agent:

The cooperative study programme that we offer in cooperation with the EUFH Brühl lasts for a total of three years and enables cooperative education students to gain experience in the fields of art logistics, relocation and dispatch. In addition to planning and organising the shipment of goods, the daily tasks also include the dispatch and organisation of freight forwarding and logistical services.

Our cooperative education students also take care of transnational shipment monitoring, the processing of damage and liability claims, as well as price calculation, quotation and invoicing.

At the same time, they also learn everything they need to know for a successful career in logistics management. During their studies, the students alternate between three months at university and three months on the job with us.

Your career opportunities

After successfully completing all fields of training, the apprenticeship as a forwarding and logistics agent usually leads to a position in one of our departments. In most cases, our trainees are taken on by the art logistics department, which offers them numerous career opportunities. Initially, they will work as project coordinators, but can then advance to the position of team leader or even branch manager.

Students who have not completed their studies with us can still join the company as management assistants, for example, and take advantage of the career development opportunities we offer to become division managers or even managing directors.

For future managers, we offer the "hasenkamp Management Development Programme". Over the course of two to three years, participants get to attend various seminars on subjects such as leadership, public speaking and communication as well as business administration skills. In addition, we offer annual training courses for our employees to ensure that they continue to develop their skills and to prepare them for new tasks.

We are happy to support you in pursuing your career path with us!
